1) Being gay is not natural. Real Americans always reject unnatural things like eyeglasses, polyester, liposuction and air conditioning.
2) Gay marriage will encourage people to be gay, in the same way that hanging around tall people will make you tall.
3) Legalizing gay marriage will open the door to all kinds of crazy behavior. People may even wish to marry their pets because a dog has legal standing and can sign a marriage contract.
4) Straight marriage has been around a long time and hasn't changed at all; women are still property, blacks still can't marry whites, and divorce is still illegal.
5) Straight marriage will be less meaningful if gay marriage were allowed; the sanctity of Britney Spears' 55-hour just-for-fun marriage would be destroyed.
6) Straight marriages are valid because they produce children. Gay couples, infertile couples, and old people shouldn't be allowed to marry because our orphanages aren't full yet, and the world needs more children.
7) Obviously gay parents will raise gay children, since straight parents only raise straight children.
8) Gay marriage is not supported by religion. In a theocracy like ours, the values of one religion are imposed on the entire country. That's why we have only one religion in America.
9) Children can never succeed without a male and a female role model at home. That's why we as a society expressly forbid single parents to raise children.
10) Gay marriage will change the foundation of society; we could never adapt to new social norms. Just like we haven't adapted to cars, the service-sector economy, or longer life spans... --- Re-post this if you believe in legalizing gay marriage
List seven songs you are into right now. No matter the genre, whether they have words, or even if they're any good, but they must be songs you're really enjoying right now. Post these instructions, the artist, and the song in your Livejournal. Then tag seven other people to see what they're listening to.
1- Nine Inch Nails - Sunspots... Trent's voice just... ah.... *drools* 2- Depeche Mode - Clean... The lyrics as well as Dave Gahan's voice just are perfect right now. As my friend Teri said, Dave's voice is velvet with ripped edges. 3- Mindless Self Indulgence - I hate Jimmy Page... it just gets stuck in my head and I sing it all day. 4- Tori Amos - Leather... lyrical and disaffected. 5- Fiona Apple - Fast As You Can... it just flows and is more upbeat than I feel lately. 6- 7-
Um... that's all I can think of right now. Music has just been background lately. And not tagging people... if you want it, gank it. Sun, Sep. 25th, 2005, 07:47 pm Happiness is...
We are all peripheral. We go through life, day in and day out hoping for meaning, hoping for happiness to come from the people we surround ourselves with, or the products we consume. But these things can never make us happy. Because there IS no higher purpose. Religion is bullshit. Man's petty graspings trying to find some easy way to live. Save me, Jesus, and tell me what to do so I can check my brain at the chapel door. We create an afterlife to keep us motivated to do the right thing. Proverbial dangling carrot from a stick. But Right is Right, whether we interpret it that way or not and Truth is Truth, whether it comes from a pastor or a buddha or a bum in an alley. We exist not to do some uncaring, distant God's bidding, but because we Will it. Sentient spirits, wanting to create, to love, to live. Happiness comes from admitting that to ourselves. Admitting that we captain our own destinies, or at least how we choose to live our lives, if not what happens to us. Happiness is what you find when you hit rock bottom and realize there's no place to go but up.

I stole this from a fellow knit blogger. Some people are like Slinkies. They're really good for nothing. But they still bring a smile to your face when you push them down a flight of stairs.
Modern, Cool Nerd 78 % Nerd, 78% Geek, 43% Dork | For The Record:
A Nerd is someone who is passionate about learning/being smart/academia. A Geek is someone who is passionate about some particular area or subject, often an obscure or difficult one. A Dork is someone who has difficulty with common social expectations/interactions.
You scored better than half in Nerd and Geek, earning you the title of: Modern, Cool Nerd.
Nerds didn't use to be cool, but in the 90's that all changed. It used to be that, if you were a computer expert, you had to wear plaid or a pocket protector or suspenders or something that announced to the world that you couldn't quite fit in. Not anymore. Now, the intelligent and geeky have eked out for themselves a modicum of respect at the very least, and "geek is chic." The Modern, Cool Nerd is intelligent, knowledgable and always the person to call in a crisis (needing computer advice/an arcane bit of trivia knowledge). They are the one you want as your lifeline in Who Wants to Be a Millionaire (or the one up there, winning the million bucks)!
Congratulations!
Also, you might want to check out some of my other tests if you're interested in either of the following:
Buffy the Vampire Slayer
Professional Wrestling
| | My test tracked 3 variables How you compared to other people your age and gender: | You scored higher than 91% on nerdiness | | You scored higher than 97% on geekosity | | You scored higher than 73% on dork points |

I am the girl kicked out of her home because I confided in my mother that I am a lesbian.
I am the prostitute working the streets because nobody will hire a transsexual woman.
I am the sister who holds her gay brother tight through the painful, tear-filled nights.
We are the parents who buried our daughter long before her time.
I am the man who died alone in the hospital because they would not let my partner of twenty-seven years into the room.
I am the foster child who wakes up with nightmares of being taken away from the two fathers who are the only loving family I have ever had. I wish they could adopt me.
I am one of the lucky ones, I guess. I survived the attack that left me in a coma for three weeks, and in another year I will probably be able to walk again.
I am not one of the lucky ones. I killed myself just weeks before graduating high school. It was simply too much to bear.
We are the couple who had the realtor hang up on us when she found out we wanted to rent a one-bedroom for two men.
I am the person who never knows which bathroom I should use if I want to avoid getting the management called on me.
I am the mother who is not allowed to even visit the children I bore, nursed, and raised. The court says I am an unfit mother because I now live with another woman.
I am the domestic-violence survivor who found the support system grow suddenly cold and distant when they found out my abusive partner is also a woman.
I am the domestic-violence survivor who has no support system to turn to because I am male.
I am the father who has never hugged his son because I grew up afraid to show affection to other men.
I am the home-economics teacher who always wanted to teach gym until someone told me that only lesbians do that.
I am the man who died when the paramedics stopped treating me as soon as they realized I was transsexual.
I am the person who feels guilty because I think I could be a much better person if I didn’t have to always deal with society hating me.
I am the man who stopped attending church, not because I don't believe, but because they closed their doors to my kind.
I am the person who has to hide what this world needs most, love.
Repost this if you believe homophobia is wrong.
For all of you who want to be shocked... here is John, in his "normal" state. Aaaand, John dressed up for his 80's party date. And we got him to do the Gay Asian Vampire voice too... which was perfect. Click pictures for larger view.

Music is your salvation. Listening to songs is your way to escape reality. You have an amazing character but you don't know how to show it, actually you don't care if people know this or not. You look for artists who can say how you feel. You appreciate the beauty you see in the little things in life. ~~Just me and my obsession~~ What's your way to escape reality? What's your salvation? brought to you by Quizilla

Not because you have to, but because you WANT to! Things you enjoy, even when no one around you wants to go out and play. What lowers your stress/blood pressure/anxiety level? Make a list, post it to your journal... and then (If you'd like) tag 5 friends and ask them to post it to theirs.
